Certain websites cannot be opened

When most websites can be accessed normally but only specific websites (such as Google Scholar) cannot be opened, follow the following tutorial.

The website is opened, but a message such as "V*N detected"/"Abnormal traffic" appears?​

  1. Close the web page.

  2. Switch nodes and enable global mode.

  3. Clear the browser cache and restart the browser, or open a new incognito browsing window.

  4. Try opening the website again.

The website cannot be opened, and a prompt such as "This website cannot be accessed" appears?​

  1. First check the browser plug-ins (such as Google Scholar Assistant) and disable plug-ins that may cause conflicts.

  2. Switch to global mode.

  3. Open the computer’s cmd command prompt and enter ipconfig /flushdns to clear the cache. (How to enter the cmd command prompt in Windows system: hold down the Win key + R key, enter cmd in the search bar, and open it)

  4. If it still doesn’t work, check the hosts file. For example, on Windows systems, open the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file, check whether there is any line in the hosts file that contains the URL of the website that cannot be opened, and delete the relevant lines. Due to system limitations, it cannot be modified directly. Find the hosts file in the system, copy the hosts file to the desktop, open it with Notepad, and after modification, copy it back and replace the original file.
