After adding rules, you can click on each added rule to edit it.

Usage description

This function is used to configure data acceleration or direct connection for certain websites, that is, access through node acceleration (consuming LibCyber traffic) or direct access to a website (not consuming LibCyber traffic).

Common scenarios and cases

  • Li Hua often visits the www.ipip.net website, which is a website to check his IP and location. He found that after using the LibCyber Desktop rule mode to connect to the node, his home-broadband IP or location is still displayed, not the overseas IP. At this time, it may be because the website is a domestic website and the direct connection rule is used by default in the built-in rules to avoid wasting traffic. At this time, you can add a rule through the custom rule function, select website suffix as the type (first option), fill in ipip.net as the url suffix (second option), and adopt a strategy (third option) Select Accelerate. After adding the rules, click to return to the homepage for the new rules to take effect. Then open a new incognito tab in the browser (to eliminate cache interference), and then open www.ipip.net to see that your IP is already an overseas IP address. The same applies if you want to access the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan version of Bilibili (bilibili, Bilibili).

  • Li Hua also often visits the app.apple.com website, which is the URL related to Apple’s updated app, but LibCyber Desktop’s built-in rules speed up access to this website by default. Because this is an international company website, the acceleration rules are given priority to avoid access anomalies. Li Hua does not want to waste traffic on any Apple-related software. At this time, you can add a rule through the custom rule function, select URL keyword as the type (the first option), fill in apple as the keyword (the second option), and select the strategy (the third option) Direct connection. Add another rule of the same type, fill in the keyword icloud, and so on, then add appstore, itunes, mzstatic, aaplimg, me.com related rules. Finally, click to return to the homepage to make the rules take effect, so that most of the traffic related to Apple software updates will not be counted by LibCyber. The same goes for if you want to avoid Microsoft Windows updates wasting traffic.

  • Zhang Ming, a student in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, wants to use ChatGPT, but does not need to speed up access to other websites. At this time, you can first add a rule through the custom rule function, select Final Match as the type (the first option), and select Direct Connection as the strategy (the second option). Add 5 more keyword type rules in succession, fill in the values of the 5 rules respectively: chatgpt, openai, oaistatic, oaiusercontent, intercom, and select acceleration as the strategy. This ensures that only access to the ChatGPT website is accelerated, and other websites are directly connected.

Special Instructions

  • This software has pre-built-in rules, including rules for most common overseas URLs and common domestic URLs, so unless there are special circumstances, you do not need to set direct connection rules for Baidu, WeChat, Taobao, etc.

  • The newly created rules will overwrite the built-in rules. If you want the Shanghai overseas version of Taobao, you can create new Taobao-related rules and select Accelerate as a strategy.

  • In the custom rule list, the higher the priority of the rules, the higher the rules will overwrite the lower rules, and the newly added rules will overwrite the previously added rules.
