Reminder

How can I tell whether my Mac has an Intel chip or an Apple‑designed chip?

Answer: Click the Apple icon in the top‑left corner of the screen and choose "About This Mac". In the window that appears, look at the "Processor" or "CPU" field. If it says "Apple M1" or "Apple M2", then your Mac uses Apple Silicon (M‑series). If it shows "Intel", then it's an Intel‑based Mac.

If you are still unsure, download the Intel build first – it currently works on both kinds of chips.

Note

When opening the app for the first time, if you see "LibCyber Desktop.app can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software" or "The installer is damaged", check the Troubleshooting section at the bottom of this page.

Installer icon

  • Open the installation package and drag the app on the left into the Applications folder on the right

  • Click the Launchpad app at the bottom of the dock to enter the app menu

Open Launchpad

  • Find LibCyber Desktop and click to launch

App icon

Note

If the first launch shows "LibCyber Desktop.app can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software" or "The app is damaged", see Troubleshooting. The app is safe and clean – you can verify it with any well‑known antivirus engine. Due to regulatory reasons, it is not yet registered in mainland China, which is why macOS shows this warning.

First launch prompt

  • Open System Preferences ▸ Security & Privacy ▸ General. A message appears at the bottom saying "LibCyber Desktop.app was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer." Click Open Anyway.

Allow launch

  • Launch LibCyber Desktop again; an Open button will now appear – click it.
Note

If macOS asks whether to allow core-darwin-amd64 to accept incoming/outgoing network connections, click Allow.

Running in background

  • After the app starts, enter the email address and password you used when registering on the website.
Note

If the password is correct but you still cannot log in, try optimizing your system DNS settings (see How to change DNS on macOS).

Choose a server node and connect

  • Click the globe icon of LibCyber Desktop in the menu bar to open the main window.

  • Click the server name (under Current mode xxx) to open the node list and choose a node, as shown below:

Select node

  • Click Connect 🚀
  • When the icon turns red (disconnect symbol), you are connected.
  • Open a browser, disable similar proxy plugins (such as Google Helper, Youku Unlock, Chinese Return, etc. – they may conflict), and test access to external websites.

Online – success!

All done

  • Congratulations! 🎉

  • If some websites are still inaccessible, try using Global Mode by clicking Global Mode as shown below:

Choose Global Mode

After purchasing/upgrading a plan or renewing your subscription

If server nodes do not refresh after purchase or renewal, please log out and log back in once.

Troubleshooting

Shows "Apple cannot verify that LibCyber Desktop is free from malware that could harm your Mac or compromise your privacy."

Answer:

Method 1: Open "System Settings". Click "Privacy & Security", scroll down, and click the "Open Anyway" button. The prompt will appear again; click "Open".

Method 2: In the dialog, click "Show in Finder", then hold Ctrl and click LibCyber Desktop.app, choose "Open", and click "Open" again.

M1/M2 MacBook shows "LibCyber Desktop is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash."

Answer: First open System Preferences ▸ Security & Privacy ▸ General, click the "Open Anyway" button that appears at the bottom, then launch LibCyber Desktop again. If it still fails or the "Open Anyway" button does not appear, open Terminal.app and enter the following command: sudo xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/LibCyber\ Desktop.app and press Return. You may need to enter your login password (characters won't appear while typing). Then press Return again and launch LibCyber Desktop once more. The Terminal command method is always effective; if it still fails, try running the command two more times.

Cannot log in within the app – always shows wrong password or network problem

Answer: Your ISP may interfere with international network access. Try optimizing your DNS settings (see How to change DNS on macOS).

Every website shows `400 Bad Request`

Answer: Set your Mac's clock to Beijing time, quit the client, restart your Mac, then reopen the app and reconnect. If that still fails, your macOS version may be too old. Update macOS or use a more compatible third‑party client (see Cross‑platform tutorial).
